We've been using Spawn internally at Redgate for a while now. Different teams have used it to spin up complex dev environments, share test data and build CI pipelines. It's made a real difference to how we develop database applications, and we think it could be useful to others too.
So we're taking applications for the closed beta of Spawn. Teams that sign up will get free use of Spawn during the beta, and will be able to spin up developer, test and CI database environments on demand.
Who's it for?
You're a great fit for the beta if you're a team of developers struggling with managing the databases in your dev environments, or looking to modernise away from shared development databases. Spawn supports multiple databases, so it's especially good if you're using more than one flavour.
To begin with we'll be limiting the number of teams we let in. In return for access to the beta we'd like to have regular calls with you to see how you're using it, and to understand and fix and any problems you're having. If that's not something you can commit to right now you can still sign up and we'll be in touch when we open up the beta.
